I have mentioned a time or two that Publix is my favorite place to shop. Yep, I know, it’s crazy that my favorite store in the world is a grocery store, but hey, what can I say? At least it keeps me from spending a fortune on clothes and shoes, right?
When I started planning things for James, Thomas, and me to do this summer, a tour of Publix was high on my list. Actually, it was one of the things that the moms group in our neighborhood did last summer and I was bummed that we missed it. I was sure to do it again this summer.
Ken is teaching the kids (OK, the moms) how to pick the best canteloupe.

Sam and James were pretty psyched about this lobster. James wouldn’t touch it, but Sam got close.

Going into the back was pretty cool. It’s pretty tiny back there, much smaller than I ever imagined.

Thomas got in on the action. He was having a good time with Meagan.

They took us upstairs where the office and break room are. It’s really cool to see the store from above. They can see everything from up there, which was really neat. They also gave us a party in the break room. We had subs from the deli, pineapple from the produce section, and cupcakes from the bakery. Yummy! Everyone, including all of the moms, was full when we left!

Publix is my favorite store as well, and for a similar reason: I don’t feel guilty spending loads of money on food! Anyway, I went to the local pharmacy today to get a Rx transferred from Publix (there are none here and it makes me so sad!), and she said, “What is this Publics? Do you have a bag from the store?” Really? Can’t I just give you the phone number? Do you really need evidence that there is a store called Publix? (And yes, she did spell it Publics!)
