We did a tour of the local firehouse this summer, too! This one was by far the most favorite of James Roe’s. He still talks about it and it was almost a month ago. (I’m really late in posting all of my pictures!)
This picture is particulary interesting. The guys have two minutes or less to get into full gear once the bell rings for a fire. They have all of their gear set up and ready to go. Most of them can get into full gear in less than 1 minute and 30 seconds. We timed this guy (he made it). James was so excited about it that a few days later I caught him laying on the floor pretending to be asleep and then jumping up and rushing to get into his rain boots, his rain jacket, his spiderman mask, his fireman hat, and now rubber gloves. He tells me and Jim that he’s going to be a fireman when he grows up.
